A shuttered Macy’s ends a 46-year career for LaDeane Edwards
August 20, 2019
LaDeane Edwards of Orem, Utah — aka Miss Orem 1958 — took a job with the ZCMI department store chain in a local mall in time for the 1972 holiday selling season. She worked in the wedding registry for many years, then transferred into the furniture department. Ms. Edwards stayed with the chain as it changed ownership to Meier and Frank, then May Company and, finally, Macy’s in 2006. “The thing I enjoyed most was my association with co-workers and the customers,” Ms. Edwards said. Macy’s closed the store in June of this year.
