Aldi moves into suburbs seeking consumers with cash

Aldi thinks its Spartan store experience will attract more upscale shoppers in search of savings. The discount grocery chain, which has about 1,600 stores operating in the U.S., said that it is now opening the majority in middle-income or higher communities.
