Amazon under scrutiny for driver safety
December 26, 2019
BuzzFeed and ProPublica published an article on Monday accusing Amazon of ignoring calls for better driver training and safety policies, claiming that drivers are overworked and under extreme pressure to speed packages to their destinations. The publications’ report uncovered 60 vehicle accidents involving the delivery of Amazon packages, resulting in numerous injuries and at least 13 deaths. In its response, Amazon said the report was “another attempt by ProPublica and BuzzFeed to push a preconceived narrative that is simply untrue. Nothing is more important to us than safety.”
