American Apparel shoppers choose between ‘Made in U.S.A.’ or made somewhere else

Gildan Activewear, which acquired American Apparel earlier this year, gives consumers on the brand’s website a choice between buying items made in the U.S. and those made in other countries. The catch is that those buying domestically-made goods will pay as much as 25 percent more than the equivalent item produced outside the U.S.
