Associate-friendly scheduling lifts retailer sales and profits

Research of employees at more than two dozen Gap stores in the Chicagoland and San Francisco Bay areas found that more consistent shift scheduling led to an increase in sales. At stores where schedules were more consistent, sales rose seven percent compared to those where employee hours were inconsistent.

Waffle House workers in Conyers, Georgia, are now on their third day of striking over what they call the company’s unfair policies.
