    Walmart gives associates a tool to deal with out-of-stocks

    A lot of valid criticism has been shared in these comments, and for that reason, many brands rely on independent crowdsourcing platforms to "audit" stores for merchandising conditions. Brands can quickly track missing/broken displays, out-of-stocks, competitive activity, and even hear from shoppers what influences awareness, consideration, and conversion at-shelf. The adoption of new tech among retailers is often slow, and brands must be nimble, so independent solutions are key to getting store-level visibility at scale so conditions can improve during key promo periods. After all, brands don't want to learn in January what caused December sales to miss projections.
