Best Buy, Target and Walmart off to strong holiday starts

Consumers increased spending 50 percent to $504 over the Thanksgiving weekend, according to the International Council of Shopping Centers. Analysts at Raymond James were particularly “impressed” with Target and Best Buy that saw traffic increase online and in stores. Walmart also was seen as a winner with the investment firm concluding the chain is well-positioned “to take share over the holiday season.”
