Bratz Maker Wins ‘Sweat Equity’ Judgment

An appeals court has ruled that MGA Entertainment violated Mattel’s copyrights when a former employee of that company brought his idea for the Bratz doll line to his new employer. MGA, however, does not need to turn over all its profits on the brand because it developed the line into a success.
