Businesses can now buy Boston Dynamic’s agile Spot robots
June 17, 2020
You may have seen (and been awed by) videos of Boston Dynamic Spot robots scaling pretty much any terrain that humans are capable of navigating (with the exception of ladders, says the manufacturer). The autonomous machines are now available for general sale at $74.5k a piece. The robotmaker sees the four-legged Spot as a platform designed to be outfitted with surveying and monitoring equipment at this point and could certainly navigate retail or distribution center spaces with ease. The robot is reportedly still not immune to the occasional tumble, but it is rigged to roll on its side and regain its legs at the press of a button.
