California considers ban on some processed food ingredients

A California Assembly member has introduced legislation that would ban artificial ingredients identified as potentially dangerous to humans. Red Dye No. 3, titanium dioxide, potassium bromate, brominated vegetable oil and propylparaben would no longer be allowed in foods if the law was passed. Jesse Gabriel, the assembly member introducing the legislation, said the action must be taken because the federal government is not doing enough to protect the public.
