Canada latest nation to plan single-use plastics ban

Canada will follow the lead of European counties in banning single-use plastics as early as 2021. Among the items to be included in the ban are cotton swabs, drink stirrers, plastic straws and some plastic bags. Canadians throw away more than 34 million plastic bags on a typical day, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.
