Consumer spending was up in April
The Associated Press/ABC News 05/31/2017Consumer spending rose 0.4 percent in April following a 0.3 increase in March, according to the Commerce Department. The increase last month was the best showing for the metric since a 0.4 percent increase in December. Consumer spending, which represents 70 percent of economic activity in the U.S., grew at its slowest rate in seven years during the first quarter.
