Consumers who buy organic care about animal welfare standards

A new survey by Consumer Reports found that 86 percent of consumers who buy organic food expect higher animal welfare standards. Eighty-three percent, for example, believe it is highly important that hens who lay organic eggs be allowed to go outdoors.
