Court denies Amazon’s appeal on pay for workers in security lines
October 8, 2019
Amazon.com requires warehouse workers to go through a security line at the end of their work shifts. The time workers spend on lines, which can take up to 25 minutes to get through, is not paid for by Amazon. A Nevada state law that requires employers to pay for mandatory employee screenings was not to Amazon’s liking so the e-tail giant appealed. An appeals court rejected Amazon’s bid.
