D.C. area grocery workers may go on strike against Giant and Safeway

The United Food and Commercial Workers union, which represents associates at 116 grocery stores in the Washington, D.C. area, may vote to strike over disagreements about pension plans at Safeway and Giant. Talks between the union and the grocers are expected to resume today.
