Big plans to turn Dean & DeLuca into a large, specialty grocery chain have failed to materialize leading to lawsuits against the retailer for failing to pay its suppliers. Dean & DeLuca was acquired in 2014 for $140 million by Pace Development Corp., a real estate firm based in Thailand.
