Specialty Roaster Com-Peet’s For Direct Delivery Biz

By George Anderson

Peet’s Coffee & Tea announced yesterday it has re-launched its Web site, Peets.com (www.peets.com), “to accelerate sales
within its direct delivery business.”

Redesigns in the site will make Peet’s coffee far more accessible to consumers and make it easy for customers to establish accounts with recurring orders.

“Driven by our core belief that the best coffee is fresh coffee, we are well positioned to excel in our direct delivery business, selling to consumers online or over the phone,”
said Jad Dunning, general manager, direct, Peet’s Coffee & Tea, Inc. “Our proprietary roast-to-order method ensures product freshness — measured by days, not months — fulfilling
orders immediately, and it is scalable to meet the growing consumer demand for higher quality, whole bean coffee. This truly distinguishes Peet’s from any other coffee roaster.”

Peet’s coffee is also available online through Amazon’s new gourmet food store site.

Moderator’s Comment: Will the Peets.com redesigned Web site and direct delivery business be successful?

The number one selling item in Amazon’s Gourmet Store is Starbucks House Blend coffee.

For coffee aficionados, or those who simply like to say the word aficionado, Peets offers the freshest (as far as we know) roasted beans available. The
consumer orders and the coffee is roasted and shipped the next day.
