Dollar Tree plays ‘hardball’ with vendors over tariffs

Dollar Tree CEO Gary Philbin told CNBC that his company’s merchants have negotiated prices and canceled orders to keep cost increases tied to tariffs on imports from China to a minimum. “We play hardball, but I would say we’ve always been fair,” Mr. Philbin said.
