Dollar Tree’s quarter was better than expected

Same-store sales at Dollar Tree stores improved 2.3 percent in the most recent quarter, slightly better than the 2.1 percent gain expected by analysts. Net income during the quarter was $1.36 per share compared to 97 cents for the same quarter a year earlier.
