Former Walmart U.S. CEO Bill Simon told attendees of the Private Label Manufacturers Association’s virtual conference that they have a significant role to play in bringing back the American economy. “We have a very consumer-driven economy. It really means when retail and packaged goods do well, everybody does well. We’re going to have to lead the way through this transition and this recovery from the [COVID-19] shutdown and everything that the virus has brought,” he said.
