Iceland Foods seeks to resolve dispute with Iceland

The British supermarket chain has sent executives to Iceland in an attempt to resolve a legal dispute over the company’s names. Government officials claim the chain’s name has made it difficult for domestic firms to qualify their foods as Icelandic and has asked the European Union’s Intellectual Property Office to force Iceland Foods to change its name, which was originally registered in 1970.
