Illinois becomes eleventh state to legalize cannabis for recreational use

Consumers living in or visiting Illinois are now able to purchase marijuana legally for recreational purposes at designated locations. Illinois joins Michigan as the only two midwestern states to legalize cannabis. Michigan ended its ban on the drug in 2018.
