Kroger could one day surpass Walmart and Amazon in online grocery

While most eyes in the industry have been on the Walmart/Amazon rivalry for online grocery, Kroger has made impressive strides, boosting its ecommerce sales by 66 percent last year, or by about $1.5 billion. Currently, Walmart is the online grocery market share leader at 33 percent, having overtaken Amazon (31 percent) in 2018, but at its current growth rate, Kroger could catch up in a couple of years.
