Kroger promoting private brands to gain market share

Kroger is adding 1,022 private label SKUs as the grocer looks to differentiate from rival chains while growing margins at the same time. The company’s own brands now account for more than 30 percent of total sales and include products in a wide variety of categories, including clothing, food, furniture, health and beauty care, meal kits, office supplies and pet food.
