L.A. approves ‘hero pay’ for drugstore and grocery workers

The Los Angeles City Council has voted 14 to one to require drug and food stores to pay frontline workers at those locations an additional $5 an hour for the next 120 days. Similar ordinances have been passed in other parts of Los Angeles County, in several California cities and Seattle.
