The German hard discount grocery chain opened for business in the U.S. with its first 10 stores yesterday. The locations in Virginia and the Carolinas primarily sell high-quality private labels at prices below what is typically found in supermarkets.

Waffle House workers in Conyers, Georgia, are now on their third day of striking over what they call the company’s unfair policies.
