Lululemon backs away from standalone men’s stores, but not men

Lululemon tested two small stores dedicated to men — one in Toronto and one in NYC’s Soho — but closed them both after deciding that consumers respond better to product positioned as a “dual-gender brand.” The Soho store was folded into another nearby location. The athleisure retailer is still committed to doubling its men’s business within the next five years.
