Inebriated customers can cause all kinds of problems for businesses that keep late hours like McDonald’s. In a test a couple of years ago, the fast-food chain played classical music in its restaurants. The result was that rowdy behavior among its drunken patrons declined. Music, it appears, really does have “charms to soothe the savage breast.”
