McD’s sells its business in China

McDonald’s has agreed to sell 80 percent of its business in China and Hong Kong to Citic, a Chinese state-owned investment group, and Carlyle, a U.S. private equity firm, for $2.1 billion. About 65 percent of the 2,000 McDonald’s in China are company-owned and operated.
