More states to take action on $15 minimum wage in 2020

Congress has not been able to budge federally mandated minimum wage above $7.25 an hour since 2009, but states, cities and municipalities are taking action, raising the ground floor to $15 an hour. Next year, according to a report by the National Employment Law Project, the number of cities and counties requiring at least a $15 minimum will double to 32, including Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and South San Francisco.
