Neiman Marcus settles data breach suit for $1.5 million

Neiman Marcus has reached a settlement with 43 states and Washington, D.C. over a 2013 data breach that exposed details about customers’ payment cards. An investigation found that 9,200 cards were used fraudulently following the breach. The upscale department store retailer has agreed to pay $1.5 million and put policies in place to avoid a similar event from happening in the future.
