New York moves closer to banning single-use plastic bags

New York legislators are set to vote on a bill that would ban single-use plastic bags in the state. If approved, the law will go into effect on March 1, 2020. Some single-use plastic bags such as those that hold uncooked meat or fish, deli or prepared foods and prescription drugs would be be allowable under the proposed legislation.
