Panera Bread’s shares soar on sale rumors

Shares of Panera Bread rose nearly eight percent by mid-afternoon yesterday after it was reported that the company was exploring a potential sale. Potential suitors for the sandwich chain include Domino’s Pizza, JAB Holdings and Starbucks, according to an unnamed source who spoke with Bloomberg. Panera’s share price had risen 28 percent over the past 12 months as of the end of last week.
