Pediatricians want limits on marketing sugary drinks to kids

The American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Heart Association want strict limits to be imposed on the marketing of beverages with high sugar content as well as better defined nutritional information on product packaging. The 12-page paper released by the health organizations claim, “Excess consumption of added sugars, especially from sugary drinks, poses a grave health threat to children and adolescents, disproportionately affecting children of minority and low-income communities.”
