PepsiCo’s U.S. snack and beverage sales go in different directions

PepsiCo’s second-quarter earnings beat expectations as international sales and North American revenues improved. The company’s beverage business in North America continued to struggle during the quarter with PepsiCo announcing plans to invest more in supporting its namesake soft drink along with its Gatorade and Mountain Dew brands.
