Alisdair James has been named president and chief executive officer of Pier 1 Imports. Mr. James replaces Alex Smith who left the retailer after 10 years as CEO. He joins Pier 1 after serving as president of Kmart. Prior to Kmart, Mr. Smith was at Tesco.
