Publix delis are no longer offering customers free slices

Workers at Publix deli counters, similar to other supermarkets, used to offer customers a free slice of the meat or cheese they ordered. That is no longer the case as Publix has changed its corporate policy. The chain has said, however, that customers who ask for a sample slice will receive it for free.
