Restaurants laying off robots and humans

Concerns that restaurants may replace humans with robots may be premature based on the experience of companies that sought to automate some of the foodservice functions typically done by people. Cafe X recently closed three of its “robotic coffee bars” and laid off an unspecified number of employees. Zume, which makes pizza using robots, is cutting 80 percent of its staff.
