Retail chief says there’s a wall between AWS and Amazon

Phil Thompson, worldwide tech leader for Amazon Web Services retail business, told attendees at the recent NRF Big Show that the suggestion by rivals that his division and Amazon.com walk in lockstep is untrue. “The competition wants you to fear us,” said Mr. Thompson. “A few won’t work with us because we’re Amazon.”
