Retailers, restaurants and workers participate in ‘Day Without Immigrants’ protest
February 16, 2017
Due to a grassroots protest of the Trump administration’s immigration policies, many restaurants, food stores and other retail establishments across the country expect to run with limited staff today as workers refuse to report to work. In some towns, such as Charlotte, NC, entire businesses have decided to close for the day in sympathy with the protest, including the seven-store Compare Food chain. In Charlotte, the protest is going under the name of “A Day Without Latinos.”
