San Jose Set to Ban Plastic and Paper Shopping Bags

The San Jose City Council wants residents and visitors to use reusable shopping bags and has voted to ban the distribution of free plastic bags starting in 2011. The city is also looking at placing a ban on all paper bags not made with at least 40 percent recycled content.
