Sears sales continue to drop as tax cut helps bottom line

Sears Holdings’ same-store sales fell 16 percent in the fourth quarter, but the company managed to post net income of $182 million thanks to a boost of $470 million from reduced corporate tax rates. The company’s shares jumped 17 percent in late trading yesterday on the news.
