Smaller Sam’s hopes to compete with Costco
The Wall Street Journal 01/28/2018The decision by Sam’s Club to close 63 locations is positioned as a strategic change that will ultimately make it more competitive with rival Costco. Sam’s, which has traditionally focused on business customers while ceding the consumer segment to Costco, is looking to target families with children with annual household incomes between $75,000 and $125,000.
