Starbucks pays farmers to offset drop in coffee prices

Starbucks has paid 8,000 farmers in El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico and Nicaragua $20 million to offset market prices that have fallen below production costs. Many coffee producing companies are struggling with lower prices as Brazil continues to increase production.
