Starbucks posts same-store gains despite decline in transactions

Same-store sales were up three percent for Starbucks in the most recent quarter. The coffee chain overcame a two percent decline in transactions as order sizes increased an average of four percent. Membership in Starbucks Rewards grew 11 percent year-over-year to 13.3 million members.
