Study uncovers Coca-Cola’s efforts to target teens

A report in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health reveals requests for proposals issued by Coca-Cola that sought forms of marketing designed to influence teens’ opinions on the health effects of soft drinks. In light of rising obesity rates, the study puts the company under scrutiny for encouraging greater consumption of sugary drinks among this vulnerable age group. The paper was produced by Australia’s Deakin University and U.S. Right to Know, a nonprofit consumer and public health group.
