Target posted an increase of 1.4 percent in same-store sales, well below the three to four percent it had forecast. The retailer saw its share price fall seven percent on the news. “We faced challenges throughout November and December in key seasonal merchandise categories and our holiday sales did not meet our expectations,” CEO Brian Cornell said in a statement.
