Target reveals plans for revamped stores

March 21, 2017

At the Shoptalk convention in Las Vegas yesterday, Target CEO Brian Cornell detailed the company’s plan to redesign stores to be more in keeping with today’s shopper behaviors. The retailer will begin with a prototype in Houston next fall that will include a separate entrance and parking area designated for quick pickups of online orders. Another “inspiration” entrance will lead shoppers by displays of brand name seasonal fashion and then by beauty, jewelry and accessories department. Target expects to roll the design out to 40 other locations by October of this year.
