Target thought it was doing something fun and positive when it set up a facade similar to CBGB, the club in New York’s East Village that served as a home for many punk and rock luminaries during its heyday. Many of those connected to CBGB thought otherwise and went public with their discontent. The retailer offered an apology for the offense taken.
