Thieves have hit half of Macon’s Family Dollars this year
December 21, 2016
The practice of stereotyping c-stores as the easiest target for quick robberies may soon shift to the dollar store channel. Macon, GA has 16 Family Dollar stores: 8 have been robbed so far in 2016. The county sheriff,  Marcus Baker, doesn’t fault the chain or the channel so much as the manner in which the stores are situated. “It’s just like hunting in a herd,” he told WMAZ. “That one animal that’s separated from the herd makes that animal an easy target. So certainly businesses that are surrounded by other businesses makes harder targets.”
